Greetings Oppo,

It’s been a while since I have written a Why Your Car Sucks article, and I’m in need of inspiration.

What deserves my ire next? The F40? The Miata, The Neon SRT-4, 911 GT2? Perhaps something more mundane, like the new F-150? or maybe even the Buick Enclave?

I have only two unkind things to say about the Sy/Ty’s

1. They didnt build enough of them

2. And the steel used to build this generation of S10 was made from compressed rust from the factory.

F40, Miata, and F-150 all would be good. The Enclave would be too, especially because my ex-Premier, a slimy arrogant crook, has one.

I think #1 has saved many from #2. Because you don’t just drive a rare vehicle year round. I might add the lack of extended cab and the 500lb cargo capacity, but

a) You aren’t buying it to haul people, you’re buying it to haul ass.

b) It IS a 1/4 ton truck. Just because the other 1/4 tonners could take more doesn’t make 500lb less than 1/4 ton.

I can imagine this one being hard to flesh out. How about a GNX?

The Volkswagen Jetta. (Or Golf.) A mainstay of college campuses, and now (or then?) in Diesel form, of eco-leaning areas. “Premium” “European” Economy Sedan at its absolute nadir. Between asthmatic base engines (I’m looking at you, 2.5l five) and endless electrical and trim niggles, these are WAY less car than they are cracked up to be. Ditto for the newer Passats.
